is just to love and be loved in return."

Ian was in an isolette for several days after his birth.

Dennis practically lived at the hospital for nearly three weeks.
Look at his face. I think he likes this baby. (The nurse is Coleen. She cared for Ian and visited Suzanne every day.)

It wasn't all Life in the Isolette. Ian came out to nurse every three hours.
When Mommy wasn't up to the action, he got a bottle full of pumped mommy milk.
As an accomplished lip-reader, I think he's saying, "Oooooooooo."

Lauren got to visit in the NICU, only because of who her mommy is.
Not even God could get 22 month old Aidan in, (probably because there is still some sanity in the world).

This is the isolette from the other side. I wasn't there, but I'm betting Daddy told Lauren
to get on the other side so he could get both the faces. (Lauaren tells me this is true.)The baby looks big in these shots. That's an illusion.

Little-girl hands holding hands with a very tiny brother. (Oops, Lauren tells me it's the nurse. Oh, well, he is still very small.)

The name of the game at this point is, "can he hold his temperature without artificial heating?"
If YES, he goes home. If NO, he stays in the NICU.
![]()
I'll tell you a secret: Mommy wasn't playing fair. She spent her time in the NICU, keeping him warm.
![]()
This is Daddy and super-fat Mommy. Don't worry, she'll diet that off. This is the isolation room in the NICU. Mommy decided it was
the best place for her little punkin, so Ian had a private room
(where Mommy could keep him warm without being seen.)

And her tricks worked again. The nurses recorded only warm temperatures,
and Ian got put in a shopping bag and carried home.Well, maybe not exactly a shopping bag, but it does sort of look that way, doesn't it.
And Daddy came to push them home. He'd have walked all the way, if necessary.

Here's Suz, waiting to be photographed, so she can stop pretending not to be in pain, and just get in the car.
There's the fast moving nurse, taking the baby to his designated riding place. (That's the DRiP, I guess.)

Ian came home, opened his eyes and said, "Oy, ve. What have I gotten myself into this time?"I wish I could capture the expression on film, but you'll just have to take my word for it.
He looks around at everything, and is definitely thinking, "What the h*ll?????"
No euphemisms for this kid. He's serious.

Daddy said, "He's kind of little, but he'll do."Grandmommy Chris said, "Be careful, don't hurt him, watch out, don't drop him, stop, support his head, don't do that, let me, oh no, wait, watch, is he warm enough, did you wash your hands, please, BE CAREFUL."

Lauren got to hold Ian right after Aidan had a turn. Mommy and Daddy were specially
careful to let Aidan be positioned to see the arrival first. Before Suzanne would come
through the door into the house, Dennis came in with the camera and made us get Aidan
in place. He then got to unwrap the baby and hold him before anybody else.
Grandmommy Chris said, "He's going to think it's one of Aidan's Toys, and then what
happens when I say, 'Go get one of Aidan's Toys, and leave Grandmommy's toys alone,'?"I'm sure Dennis has pictures of the first meeting between Aidan and his brother, but I don't have them here just now.
